This collection consists of two letters from Col. P.L. Browne, Director of the Division of Voluntary War Relief in the Department of National Health and Welfare. One of the letters encloses a letter from Sir Ellsworth Flavelle outlining the purposes of the United Emergency Fund and appealing for assistance from various organizations across Canada.

The fonds consists of 9 volumes of minute books. The 5 volumes dated from 1897 to 1945 belonged to the United Women's Missionary Societies and the remaining 4 volumes (1945-1973) belonged to the Women's Inter-Church Council of Saint John.
Information about the structure of meetings, some names of members and missionaries and general missionary work is included. The Women's Inter-Church Council minutes include some financial reports, a type copy of the constitution and by-laws adopted in 1967, and some printed orders of church services and newsclippings relating to the annual World Day of Prayer. In volume 9, there are lists of executive members and denominational members of the Council from 1965-1973.

The information lists people's names and a detailed list of their purchases with the costs and totals. Entries were marked paid and had pencil lines through them once paid. Ledger has been to PANB for cleaning and a special ledger box was made for it.

Upham Parish
The fonds consists of a typed manuscript of the history of Upper Gagetown, New Brunswick, written in about 1958. It begins in 1755 and focuses on early settlements by the French, English and Loyalists, giving some names and locations of settlement. There are descriptions of the daily life of these settlers including clearing land, cooking, hunting, fishing, raising sheep, spinning and knitting, and basket-making learned from Louie and Mollie Sebatis (Sabatis? possibly aboriginal people).
There is a discussion of the use of both rowing boats and steamboats for transportation, which names many vessels including the "Reindeer", "General Ward" and "Antelope". There are references to the destruction caused by the forest fires in 1897 and 1921. The author also gives a brief description of churches in the area.
