Photographs, dated 1880 to1931, show family members. This fonds consists mainly of documents related to the Dalling family's personal activities rather than to the family's jewelry store. There are photographs, correspondence, journals, photoplays and essays, social memorabilia, memorials, and newspaper clippings. Photographs date from 1885 to 1960 and are of Woodstock landmarks and the surrounding landscape. There are also photographs taken of family members and of Carleton County residents.

Correspondence includes letters written from W.V. Dalling to Mrs. H.V. Dalling and business associates, 1889-1917; and letters written to Edith Dalling, 1920-1929. The journals belong to Mrs. H.V. Dalling, 1886-1898, Estella B. Townsend, 1908-1927, Edith Dalling, 1914, and Leslie Mavor,1958. Photoplays and essays were written by William and Orville Dalling and John McKilligan. Social memorabilia includes programs, dance cards, and invitations. Memorials include cards for the deaths of John McKilligan, Ruby Dalling, Thomas Dalling, and Matilda Dalling. Newspaper clippings concern H.V. Dalling and his manufacturing of the first two telephones in Woodstock.

His estate documents include correspondence, account books, timber transactions, and receipts. All documents date between 1800-1836. Judith Smith Morehouse's materials date from 1834-1856, and include indentures, leases, bonds, record books, agreements, and family correspondence. Smith family documents, dated 1787-1835, contain legal materials and account information related to Jacob, Benjamin, John, Oliver, and Sidney Smith.

Frederick Morehouse's documents consist of bonds, indentures, mortgages, and business correspondence dating from 1826-1843. Morehouse family documents consist of legal and financial papers belonging to Charles, Daniel, George, Henry, and John Morehouse, dated 1822-1837.

The related Dibblee family's documents contain legal papers consisting of deeds, leases, business correspondence, and John Dibblee's 1856-1858 diary. Beardsley family documents contain legal, correspondence, and account information, 1834-1850. "This fonds consists mainly of documents related to the McLaughlin family's personal activities. Materials related to John McLaughlin and his estate, dating from 1926-1932, include correspondence, invoices and receipts, his 1932 death announcement, and insurance policies. There is also a small group of records of his dry goods company consisting of financial papers and business correspondence. The materials belonging to his wife Annie include receipts, correspondence, and bills, dated 1880-1939.

Charles Guy McLaughlin's documents (1908-1953) include family correspondence, financial papers consisting of tax, insurance policies, and receipts, and also military certificates he received as a lieutenant. Elsie McLaughlin's papers consist entirely of correspondence with physicians and acquaintances, dated 1918-1936. Marguerite McLaughlin's materials contain correspondence with friends and relatives and receipts dating from 1889-1954. Bessie McLaughlin also has receipts and correspondence, dated 1929-1954. Harry McLaughlin has business correspondence, dated 1935-1965. Charles Guy McLaughlin's son, Ronald, has documents including correspondence, military papers, and receipts, dated 1916-1941.

Lee, 1924-1925; and from teacher Nora Thompson, 1928.

Carleton-York Regiment

The fonds mainly consists of the Carleton Light Infantry's records after its reorganization in 1920. Fonds includes a history of the Carleton Light Infantry, records of the 1934 annual meeting of the Carleton Light Infantry, financial information, company correspondence, and nominal rolls. There are personnel files listing name, rank, company, address, registration date, and remarks concerning any leaves of absence, applications for higher rank, meetings attended, etc.; there are also medical officers' certificates, and property information. The information about the Carleton-York Regiment is limited to records of a 1937 meeting of the Regiment, a financial statement, and shared personnel files.
