This collection consists of records of the Charlotte County Gaol inmates, including gaol registers and discharge records, an account of sale of public lots in the Gaol Block, transcribed interviews with individuals who used to work or live in the Gaol, and blank printed forms for the operation of the gaol.

Log-book recording a voyage from Campobello to New York (November 7, 1855), John Coe Master, and a voyage from New York to London (December 11, 1855), Peter Morrison Master. The book was used again years later by the McKenzie family of Mascarene, first for accounts (1867-1869), and then as a diary in 1884.

Papers consist of Nathan Treadwell's commission as captain in First Battalion, Charlotte County Militia, Dec. 12, 1864, 10 certificates of discharge of seamen Hedley V. Treadwell from ship 'Senator Weber (Liverpool),1976-9 and ship 'Regent' 1880-83, and two handwritten testimonials, also a brief genealogy recorded by J.C Medcof in 1965 and 2 photos ; certificate of Merit to Nathan Treadwell ; newspaper article on Treadwell home.

The fond consists of John Simpson's United States Inspectors Certificate's to Masters and Pilot issues no.1, no. 3, no. 4, no. 6 and no. 7 (1881-1883, 1885, 1887), entrusting to perform duties as Master of steam vessels on the waters of the New England Coast

Typed from an article by Fred McRoberts about shipbuilding at Brandy Cove. The articleappeared in the St. Croix Courier in 1947 and was pasted in a scrapbook by Mrs. C.H. Tompkins.
