  • CA CC MCC24
  • Fonds
  • 1825-1960

This fonds consists mainly of documents related to the Dalling family's personal activities rather than to the family's jewelry store. There are photographs, correspondence, journals, photoplays and essays, social memorabilia, memorials, and newspaper clippings. Photographs date from 1885 to 1960 and are of Woodstock landmarks and the surrounding landscape. There are also photographs taken of family members and of Carleton County residents.

Correspondence includes letters written from W.V. Dalling to Mrs. H.V. Dalling and business associates, 1889-1917; and letters written to Edith Dalling, 1920-1929. The journals belong to Mrs. H.V. Dalling, 1886-1898, Estella B. Townsend, 1908-1927, Edith Dalling, 1914, and Leslie Mavor,1958. Photoplays and essays were written by William and Orville Dalling and John McKilligan. Social memorabilia includes programs, dance cards, and invitations. Memorials include cards for the deaths of John McKilligan, Ruby Dalling, Thomas Dalling, and Matilda Dalling. Newspaper clippings concern H.V. Dalling and his manufacturing of the first two telephones in Woodstock.
