This fonds contains the records preserved from a family owned building where different businesses operated. The contents include: correspondence ; invoices in alphabetical order, with catalogues and advertising and ledgers from suppliers ; day books and journals in chronological order ; Telegrams in alphabetical order by local resident name 1916-1929 ; Registered letter ledger for Seal Cove Post Office 1911-1914 ; Journal for recording telephone calls 1953-1954 ; and original fish can labels two different types. Item consists of a day book type ledger. Due to the small quantity of sales for each year it is thought that this may have been a special ledger not used for all customers - recording purchases at the time of sale, price of items sold and total owing from March 1, 1892 - July 3, 1905. Name of record keeper unknown. Starting on page 7 and ending on page 150 are the account records of an individual's purchases charged at the store - with 'paid' marked by them once they were paid. Pages 430 - 435 lists all the names of those in the journal - in no apparent order. Page 436 - 453 appears to be an inventory listing. Note in January 1905 there is an extensive list for the Masonic Lodge.
