History

Charles Reid Hatheway was born in 1789, one of seven sons of Loyalist Ebenezer Hatheway (1748-1811) and his wife Mary. In 1816 Charles Hatheway married Abigail Julia Clements (b. 1792). They had at least 10 children: George Frederick (1817); I. Isabella (1818); Charles E.O. (1820); Theresa. S.A. (1822); Caroline. M.E. (1824); B.J.I. (1826); Georgina (1828); P. Clements (1830); Bradshaw O.H. (1832); Ara Gloria (1834). He served as a lieutenant in the New Brunswick Fencibles and as a justice of the peace for Charlotte County. Charles R. Hatheway died on 21 July 1869 in St. Andrews, New Brunswick.
