George A. McLaughlin, born March 22, 1890 to D. I. Wood and Jennie A. McLaughlin, died June 11, 1980. In the 1911 Census George is 20 and still living at home. George was a Private in the 1st Depot Batt. during World War 1. He was reported in the Eastport Sentinel newspaper on 25 Dec. 1918 "Pvts. George McLaughlin and Reginald Moran, 1st Depot Batt. having got their discharge, have returned home." In 1941, he was working at The Anchorage Campground and wrote to the owner saying he could no longer work for a dollar a day on his time sheet for Nov and Dec

Portée et contenu
This fonds contains correspondence and receipts and photos belonging to George McLaughlin. There is correspondence from the Dominion of Canada Rifle Association, The New Brunswick Tuberculosis Association with Christmas Seal Stamps 1941, National War Finance Committee 1945, and personal correspondence. The receipts show taxes paid for roads, school, store purchases, Dominion of Canada Income tax papers from 1944, NB Electric Power employee pay stubs 1944, and others.
