Biographical history

The Gaudy family, of Saint John, New Brunswick, were members of the Saint John Male Choral Club. The club was formed in the Fall of 1928. Its objective was the encouragement of good music in the community.

Custodial history

Given to the Mount Allison Archives by Peter Higham, Music Librarian, Alfred Whitehead Memorial Music Library, who received them from Doreen Tuomola, on behalf of Hazel Gandy, 1991.

Scope and content

Fonds contains material compiled by the Gaudy family in relation to their involvement in the Saint John Male Choral Society. This includes programs; song sheets; a publication, “Elijah” An Oratorio, which was a synopsis and book of words; clippings; and miscellaneous records.
