Biographical history
Sophie Doiron est née à Acadieville (Nouveau-Brunswick) en 1899 et mariée vers 1925 à Edmond Allain d'Acadieville. C'est pendant la décennie 1930 que Sophie Allain commença à préparer son futur « Remède Acadien ». Vers 1940, le couple élut domicile à Moncton (N.-B.) où Sophie continue de fabriquer son remède (syrop miraculeux contre les maux au corps dûs aux rhumatismes, contre la grippe ou tous autres problèmes de santé similaires). Ce remède était distribué dans l'ensemble des Maritimes et au Québec. Sophie Allain est décédée en 1992.

Scope and content
Ce fonds comprend trois séries : certificat d'inscription (1959), coupures de journaux ([1959]) et photos ([19--]). Le certificat émis par le ministère de la Santé nationale et du Bien-être social permet à Sophie Allain de vendre son produit sous le nom de « Remède Acadien ». Les photos de Sophie Doiron et Edmond Allain sont disponibles dans le fonds.
