Dates of existence

Christina Cuthberson was born in 1902 in Edinburgh, Scotland and came to Canada as a young lady and she was employed as a nanny to John and Betty Shooters children in Halifax Nova Scotia. She married George A Higgins in Montreal in 1939, George was born in 1911 and died in 1988 in St Andrews.

Chrissie and George lived in St. Andrews and Chrissie found work in the summer months as a house keeper for summer residents. When the Shooters would visit St Andrews, they would always bring Chrissie a case of Alexander Keith's beer from Halifax. She would travel back to Scotland with her earnings. On her last trip to Edinburgh, on hearing an English tour guide conduct a tour that day, she refused to stay and take the tour and vowed never to return to Scotland.

After the death of her husband in 1988 Chrissie suffered a stroke and was bed ridden until her death in 1992 at the Passamaquoddy Lodge in St. Andrews. Chrissie and George had no children.
