Corporal Aldran Irvine Stewart enlisted with the Canadian Active Service Force 5 June 1944 at the No. 7 District Depot, Fredericton New Brunswick. He was given the regimental number G5811. At the time of enlistment he was living in Penobsquis, King' County, NB. Aldran was born in Westmorland County. Prior to joining up he worked as a farmer. he was Married to Dorthy Stewart. Aldran set out from Camp Sussex and disembarked in the United Kingdom 15 May 1945, where he was taken on strength by the 1 Canadian Signals Unit. Stewart was discharged 13 December 1946, to return to civilian life. He reenlisted with the 8th New Brunswick Hussars 15 October 1952. At that time he was living in Sussex Corner, NB. He was qualified as a driver in 1954. He served as an administrative clerk until 1956. during that time he was awarded his first and second service chevron.
