The concept of the Museum was envisioned in 1981. Doors opened in 2004 to support the town's 100th anniversary.

Scope and content
Fonds consists of Photographs by various contributors that Includes 12 satellite photo negatives. Correspondence that includes letters and copies of letters to and from unit staff and others at various bases from Petawawa, Gagetown, Winnipeg and Germany. Some of these letters are handwritten but the majority are typed.
History of the Regiment:
Rough Draft of the How History. Correspondence with members regarding History including History notes. First draft of the History without pictures . A binder of photocopies of newspaper articles pertaining to the regiment's history and photocopies from various publications compiled for the 150th Anniversary of the Regiment.
Service:
Original hard covered book with Officers? Service from 1896-1944. Plus 10 pages of Officers Particulars including one page Slate of Officers.
Publications:
A copy of Instructions for Competition categories for NATO Allies exercises 1994 held in Germany. Included are photographs and articles pertaining to the 8th Hussars museum opening in Sussex. Also information in regards to museum operations and administration. Also included is a Certificate of Service for Otty Corbett.
Nursing Sisters
Madeline McEwen was a Nursing Sister with the rank of Lieutenant. She was commissioned on March 23, 1942. Sandra Muir was at Camp Aldershot, Nova Scotia. She was a 2nd Lt. This file includes an album CWAC Summer Camps 1966-1969.; 15 CWAC pictures( most are notated) donated by Sandra Muir. A Certificate of Service, a photograph and a Service Badge Certificate from Madeline McEwen.
Rangers:
1 page Militia Orders of 1903 and 14 pages of Regimental Organization and Historical Sketch.
2 videos one original and a copy of Vimy Ridge.
